Since 1991 Steve's practice has grown tremendously. Steve practices in foreclosure defense, estate planning, real estate and mortgage loan modifications and his practice has grown to include several lawyers and support staff. (Steve's partner Gary Newland and his team practices in personal injury_
Due to Steve's experience and expertise he is often asked to speak at bar association seminars to other lawyers on areas of law that he practices in. Steve has also volunteered his services to the foreclosure court help desk at the courthouse to assist individuals who are facing foreclosure. Due to Steve's success in defending foreclosures, he has one of the largest foreclosure defense practices in the Chicago area and the largest foreclosure defense practice in Lake County, Illinois.
Steve obtained his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Steve then went on to receive his law degree from DePaul University in Chicago, excelling in law school as a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence. Steve was employed at one of the largest and most prestigious personal injury law firms in the nation where he worked on multimillion-dollar high publicity cases such as the Tylenol poisonings and major aviation disasters. While working on high profile injury cases, Steve also provided legal representation to those unable to afford an attorney through the DePaul Legal Aid Clinic.

- I with my brother Gary have formed the law firm of Newland & Newland, LLP. Due to our many successes and reputation, our firm is growing rapidly. Many of our clients are referred to us from past clients and other lawyers in the community who know first hand of the results we have obtained for clients. We are a 9 lawyer 20 person firm that focuses on a variety of areas. My half of the firm handles real estate, foreclosure defense, bankruptcy, and estate planning. I have one of the largest practices in the Chicago area for real estate and foreclosure defense related issues. While Gary's half of the firm concentrates in personal injury and workers' compensation. Gary have obtained tens of millions of dollars in recoveries for injured clients including multiple cases in just the last year that resulted in recoveries of well over a million dollars.
