Susan Ann Martinez
Florida Bar AssociationSusan A. Martinez, Esq., I am a mother, formerly in the United States Air Force, and a former Assistant State Attorney, I have always wanted to be a prosecutor because of my strong sense of justice. I have extensive experience with the criminal justice system as both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney. After leaving the State Attorneys Office, I continued to have a strong sense of justice so I decided that I wanted to practice consumer law and I started learning about debtor’s rights and helping consumer’s. I treat each client as if they are an actual victim of a fraudulent criminal or civil violation that was conducted by the banking institution. I was here at the beginning of the foreclosure crisis and decided that I would attack the foreclosure proceedings against the Banks using the weapons at my disposal. There are many State and Federal Laws to protect consumers and I use them on a daily basis. Defending a foreclosure action in a court of equity requires a unique background and an understanding and knowledge of real estate, property, contracts, securities, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), secured transactions, and bankruptcy. When I am not defending homeowners, I am a consumer advocate using multiple consumer enacted State and Federal laws to pursue justice against corrupt corporations, banking institutions, credit reporting agencies, collection agencies and other wrongdoers for their fraudulent behaviors and damages they have caused consumers or society. I continue to endeavor in criminal cases, however, if you are a banker or mortgage broker, charged for any criminal activities…don’t bother to contact me. I have held several positions in the Okaloosa and Walton Bar Association, including President. I am currently a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), a member of National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL), a member of
