Susan Jacobsen
Minc Law
Susan’s unique background in technology, privacy, advocacy, and justice allows her to provide a holistic perspective to effectively handle defamation law matters for her clients. Prior to joining Minc Law, Susan worked in the Special Investigations Division of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office where she was involved with the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI), the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and the Cold Case Unit. There, she gained invaluable experience understanding the investigative process and managing cases involving traumatic events. As a clerk for the Supreme Court of Ohio, she helped address complex and novel issues of law.
During law school, Susan focused her studies in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy law, where she helped companies address the various risks that come with operating in the digital age. From conducting risk assessments to addressing access controls and compliance, Susan understands the impact of technology on companies as well as on individuals including the harm it may cause to victims’ lives. These collective experiences have given Susan a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of defamation matters in our increasingly digital society coupled with showing compassion and empathy for those involved.
Susan is well-versed in the most cutting-edge technology and effective legal tactics available to successfully represent businesses and individuals as they face internet extortionists and online harassers, including those who attempt to hide their identities behind a veil of assumed anonymity. She gives clients peace of mind in their personal and professional lives and helps them manage their online privacy and protection against extortion, online harassment, cyberbullying or revenge porn.
Outside of the office, Susan enjoys volunteering in her community, playing classical music on the piano, hiking, and reading mystery novels.
