William R. Trueba Jr.

Co-founder William R. Trueba, Jr.’s practice centers on the domestic and international enforcement of intellectual property rights. Will is also a U.S. Registered Patent Attorney, with a background in electrical engineering. He has represented clients in patent infringement lawsuits involving various technologies, including fertilizers, highway construction equipment, software, lasers, marine equipment, HVAC systems, nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, pet products, baby products, hunting equipment, motion detectors, super capacitors, farming methods and others. He has also represented clients in the enforcement of copyrights involving motion pictures, music, artwork, photographs, software, and jewelry among others. Will has also assisted clients with trademark and trade dress matters involving clothing, inspection services, boats, sunscreen, and other goods and services.
In addition to his trial experience, he has also assisted clients with the prosecution of patent, trademark and copyright applications. In 2014, Will was named the Most Effective Lawyer in the Intellectual Property category by the Daily Business Review, for winning a major victory in a patent infringement lawsuit, Tawnsaura v. Vitacost.com, (U.S. District Court for the Central District of California). As an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Model Patent Jury Instructions Subcommittee, he has participated in the revisions made to the Model Patent Jury Instructions for the past two years. He has been selected by his peers as a Super Lawyer for more than five consecutive years and a Florida Trend Magazine Legal Elite. Will received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University. Prior to going to law school, Will was an engineer with Florida Power & Light Company. Will is fluent in English and Spanish.
