Legal Answers
- Q. Child offered seat at STEM magnet program, ex-wife refuses to allow child opportunity. What can father do to get custody
- A: This is a co-parenting issue and if you have shared parental responsibility then you may consider filing an urgent motion to get this matter heard by the judge before school starts in August. These are never easy cases and you should consult with an attorney in your community further about your options.
- Q. I am divorcing my wife, we got married in Nicaragua 3 yrs ago, do I divorce her in the USA or in Nicaragua?.
- A: If you have lived together in Florida for at least the last six months, then a divorce is proper in Florida.
- Q. Can I file a motion to amend divorce petition to add facts relating to false accusations of DV?
- A: That may be a good idea but you should probably hire an attorney to draft this request and the amended petition for you.
