He obtained his license to practice law in 1990 after graduating from the Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia. He started his career in law as a Research Law Clerk, then held jobs in the public sector working as an Assistant Attorney General for four years and as an Assistant Public Defender.

After his time in the public sector, he joined his father in private practice. Then he moved on into corporate and human resources law as an In-House Counsel to an employee leasing company.

But he missed the courtroom, and soon moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. While helping clients with their criminal and civil cases in St. Petersburg, he is also active on the Treasure Island Planning and Zoning Board, having served as a member for 10 years and as Chairman for two of those years.
