John Emerson
Mr. Emerson is a founding partner of Emerson Firm, PLLC. He is a member of the state bars of Texas, Washington and Arkansas. Mr. Emerson obtained his BA from the University of Texas at Austin and then earned his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law Houston.
Mr. Emerson has been rated “AV Preeminent” for the last 20 years by Martindale-Hubbell. This is the highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards. Mr. Emerson was honored by being named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America by the National Trial Lawyers in 2013-2016.
In his high profile personal injury practice, Mr. Emerson resolved a catastrophic brain injury case in 2018 involving alleged malpractice by doctors and staff at CHI-St. Vincent Hot Springs.
In his antitrust practice, Mr. Emerson is or has been involved in the antitrust cases: Aluminum Warehousing, Compact Disc, High Pressure Laminates, Lithium Ion Batteries, CRT (Cathode Ray Tube), Flash Memory, GPU (Graphics Processing Units), Ocean Shipping, TFT-LCD (Flat Panel), Trans-Pacific Airline Surcharge, Domestic Airlines, Liquid Aluminum Sulfate, Bridgestone Anti-Vibration Rubber Parts, and Interior Molded Doors.
In his privacy/data breach practice, Mr. Emerson has prosecuted cases for aggrieved consumers in the following privacy or data breach cases: Marriott, Equifax, Experian, Premera Health, Vizio, Banner Health, & Capitol One.
Mr. Emerson was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Counsel Steering Committee by Judge Melinda Harmon in the consolidated Enron ERISA Litigation, styled Pamela M. Tittle v. Enron Corp., et al.
Mr. Emerson represents corn farmers in the United States in the case In re: Syngenta AG MIR162 Corn Litigation (MDL 2591). A global settlement of approximately $1.5 billion has been approved. Mr. Emerson is prosecuting numerous class actions relating to "303" tractor oil fluid.
He has extensive jury trial experience over the past 39 years.
