Scott J. Scherr
Trial Lawyer -- Personal Injuries and Business Litigation
Scott is a Member at Payne, Malechek, Scherr, Campbell & Moore, P.C., and has been trying lawsuits throughout in State and Federal Courts, and in arbitration proceedings since 1992. He started his legal career trying cases in Dallas, Texas.
Scott is currently admitted to practice before all Texas State Courts, the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the Southern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, the US Courts of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, where he was in the Corps of Cadets and Parson’s Mounted Calvary.
After working several years, he went back to school and earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the South Texas Law Review and authored the Case Note “A Remote Manufacturer May Be Held Grossly Negligent As A Matter
of Law In Spite Of Any Warnings Provided To An Intermediary Not In The Direct Chain Of Distribution.” 31 S. Tex. L. Rev. 697 (1990). He was also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers Varsity Mock Trial Team, the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity and he received a Distinguished Service Award from the South Texas Law Review.
Currently, Scott is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, and has been a member of numerous civic and professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, the Brazos County Bar Association, the Dallas County Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (Co-Chair Judiciary Committee, 1997-1999), the Texas Aggie Bar Association, the Brazos Valley Human Resource Management Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a Certified Mediator.
