Suzanne Holz Meola
Hard Working Attorneys for Hard Working People
Ms. Holz Meola heads the Social Security Disability Department at Petro Cohen and has nearly 30 years of legal experience. In addition to Social Security disability, she handles workers’ compensation claims for the firm.
Ms. Holz Meola graduated cum laude from Mount St. Mary’s College (Emmitsburg, MD) in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in political science and minoring in business. In 1989, she received a Juris Doctor degree from Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University (Carlisle, PA). As part of her legal education, Ms. Holz Meola assisted in providing free legal services to victims of domestic abuse at a local legal clinic.
“I became an attorney simply because I wanted to help people navigate what can be a very confusing and complex legal system in order to help them protect their rights so that they are not taken advantage of by others who are more familiar with the system.” Ms. Holz Meola’s favorite part of her job is getting to know her clients as individual people and not just as a name on a file, as well as the hugs she often get from clients when their claim is concluded. “That means the world to me.”
When not working, Suzanne enjoys walking the Boardwalk, swimming, reading, and spending time with her family.
Ms. Holz Meola is also active in several legal associations.
- Monmouth County Bar Association (1991 to present)
- NJ Bar Association (2004 to present)
- The Justice James H. Coleman, Jr. New Jersey Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court (2004 to present)
